I have twenty years of experience in the capital markets; both trading and broking in the wholesale markets, including managing money within the Alternative Investment industry as a CTA, managing client money across the fixed income, equity, foreign exchange and commodity markets.
My consulting services are focused on business development - this definition is deliberately and of necessity broad as it covers business strategy, product development and distribution including marketing and sales. I have a practical knowledge of the role of IT and operations in business development and ongoing business management.
I have substantial strategic business development experience, including eight years in consultancy and change management, working on large scale projects covering the end to end business management spectrum:

Between 1997 and 2003, I worked within the Barclays Group managing large and diverse teams of line staff and externals. I worked on numerous new business launches and on business development projects. These projects spanned the range of underlying products offered within the Barclays Group. I was involved in the creation of Barclays Investment Management and worked closely with BGI on a number of projects.
Between 2003 and 2006 I was Managing Director of the Futures business at ICAP. We built a Clearing business in the US and Europe, established an integrated sales model spanning global locations, launched a Hedge Fund and developed a proprietary trading business. I was responsible for both the business and the management of all external relationships with Regulators, Exchanges, Clearing Houses and vendors.
Since leaving ICAP, I have been working on a number of corporate transactions and carrying out strategic consultancy assignments. I provide advisory and business development services to Exchanges and Clearing Houses, market infrastructure and e-commerce firms; I have also worked for some of the leading Hedge Funds, CTAs and money managers reviewing their product offering and operational model.
I am a regular speaker on the conference circuit, contributor in the trade press and have been engaged as an expert witness on a number of capital markets issues.
My principal product experience is in the Exchange Traded derivatives (ETD) markets. I understand the ETD model intimately and understand the business from all dimensions: buy-side, sell-side, Exchange and service provider. I also gained valuable exposure to the breadth of products covered by an inter-dealer broker and a detailed understanding of the business models adopted in the OTC markets through my role at ICAP.
